1. Information we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, and role, collected when you sign up or are invited.
- Project content: projects, finish selections and options, photos and files you upload, comments, estimate information, and decisions made by participants.
- Billing information for contractors: plan, subscription status, and related records. Card details are entered with Stripe; FinishWise does not store full card numbers.
- Usage and technical information: basic logs, device and browser details, and how features are used, so we can run and secure the service.
- Account activity: verified sign-in dates and recent activity from visible, signed-in app tabs. Platform administrators can see this activity. A contractor can see an assigned client's last sign-in only after the project invitation has been accepted; contractors cannot see platform-wide activity.
- Messages: when you contact us, we keep your message and our reply.
2. How we use it
- to provide the service, including showing projects to the right people;
- to authenticate you and keep accounts secure;
- to process payments and manage plans and trials;
- to send operational email such as invitations, approvals, and account or billing notices;
- to provide support, fix problems, and improve FinishWise;
- to meet legal obligations.
3. Who can see your information
Contractors who own a project can see the project and the people they invite. Invited participants, such as homeowners and designers, can see the project content made available to their role. Some information, such as certain cost details, is not shown to clients.
FinishWise administrators can access account and project information when needed to provide support and keep the service working. We do not sell your personal information.
Mobile information and SMS opt-in consent will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Creating a FinishWise account does not enroll you in SMS; any SMS program requires separate opt-in.
4. Service providers
We rely on other companies to run FinishWise. Each receives only what it needs for its function.
- Clerk provides sign-in and authentication.
- Stripe processes subscription payments.
- Hosting and storage providers store application data and uploaded files.
- AI providers process the content you submit when you use an AI feature. Content is sent to them only when you use those features.
- Email delivery providers send operational messages.
5. Cookies and browser storage
FinishWise and our sign-in provider use cookies and similar technology to keep you signed in and to keep the service secure. Your browser may also store drafts, such as unsaved selection edits, locally on your device so you do not lose work. You can clear this through your browser settings, which may sign you out or remove unsaved drafts.
6. Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms. If you want information removed, contact us at support@finishwise.app.
7. Your choices and requests
You can ask to access, correct, or delete your information, or ask a question about how it is used, by emailing support@finishwise.app. We will verify your identity before acting on a request so that your information is not shared with the wrong person. Some information may need to be kept where required by law or to protect the service.
8. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including access controls based on user roles. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
FinishWise is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page.
